Yongli
Food Village
parking lots + restaurants + temporary market spaces

It is a project located in one of the most crowded urban area, where it requires a public space with high accessibility for the neighborhood.
However, the site is actually a parking lot at the moment. We will have to keep the present parking lot, and add something to bring busy life to the neighborhood. Restaurants, food courts and market places would be the priority for this project.
To assure the project would come to a satisfactory result, we will move the parking lot to the upper floors, and leave the ground floor for public use. To provide sufficient air and light to the ground floor we design a spiral parking system with an atrium.
My job in the project is to take charge of all the works on the stages of the schematic design and detail development.

While the land owner still wanted to keep the profitable parking lot at site, our goal is to find the balance between building an efficient parking structure and creating a welcoming environment for the people who eat at the restaurants.

interior courtyard creates outdoor experience for food court customers

farmers market plaza keeps the building functional in the morning

the parking lot could be adapted into a night market

restaurants and food court are organized as a village of food and cuisine
